Local girls shine in netball tournament
Dromore Netball Club were this year’s hosts and the event took place in Dromore Community Centre.
There was a great turn out, with over 90 girls attending from the four clubs and lots of parents to support their sporting stars.

Hide AdThere were two sections. Section One was made up of teams from primary 4/5/6 and Section Two was for primary 6/7.
There were five teams in each section. The matches took place throughout the day, and there was such a high standard of netball played by all the girls.
There were a total of 20 eight minute matches played, which meant the teams played each team in their sections.
After some very close matches, the winners of Section One were Downpatrick and the Section Two champions were Banbridge.

Hide AdEach club was given the task of selecting one girl from another club who stood out as their Player of The Tournament. The winners were Banbridge’s Elli Funnel, Downpatrick’s Niamh Murray and Dromore’s Kayla Hooke.
The clubs would like to thank all the parents of Dromore Minis for their support on. They also sent a big thanks to Chris and McDonald’s Mace in Dromore for sponsoring bottles of water and snacks for all the girls on the day.
