Who's up 'Four' the cup?

THIS Thursday night sees the eagerly awaited Mortgage Shop Top Four Final take place and it throws together last year's beaten finalist Carniny Rangers and All Saints OB who are unbeaten in the League this season.

Carniny will be hoping to make it third time lucky in this competition as they have been beaten finalists in the last two seasons.

Alex McCosh remains in goals for Carniny and he seems to get better as the years go on, in front of him Derek Reid and Alan Gaston form a formidable central defensive partnership and this trio has contributed greatly to Carniny having a 100 per cent start in the League.

The midfield is the engine room of Carniny with Captain Jason Robinson driving his team forward and he will be ably assisted by Jordan Kenny and Leslie McCaughern who between them supply the ammunition for a potent forward line.

Scott Drummond has been banging the goals in for Carniny so far this season and with the return of Roger Jones and Chris Dowie from spells at Ballymena United, Carniny have a very dangerous attack which would trouble any defence in the country.

Saints will be playing in their first Top Four Final since 2003 and they will be hoping keeper Brian Martin continues his great form to keep out the Carniny attack.

In front of him new additions this season Colin Laffin and Steven McAvoy have helped shore up the defence along with Captain Eoin Hudson who leads the team forward from right back. Stephen Tully and Ryan Lyness provide a strong anchor in front of the back four and this gives Aidan O'Kane the chance to create openings for prolific striker Chris Smiley who Saints will hope can fire them to Top Four glory.
