Boxer wins his Ulster Title fight
Casey (13) weighed in at 63kg and faced Jimmy Ward, boxing out of the Bundoran gym in the semi final. Casey was too strong for Ward and the referee stepped in to stop that contest in the Banbridge lad’s favour in the second round. With similar circumstances, determining a win for Oisin Reece in the other semi final, the scene was set for a titan clash in the final.
From the first bell it was clear that Casey was working to a plan to overcome the height and reach advantage of his Keady rival. Attacking from the beginning, Sean closed in on Oisin to avoid his stinging left jab with a flurry of combinations.
