A group from the Department for Social Development recently raised over £1300 at a coffee morning in aid of Carrickfergus-based Belfast Lough Sailability.

Speaking at the cheque presentation at the charity’s headquarters within the grounds of Carrickfergus Sailing Club, DSD Financial Management branch employee Donna Henderson said that the idea germinated from a volunteering visit to BLS in the summer as part of the Business in the Community scheme.

During the project the volunteers undertook maintenance work, and assisted a group visit from Mitchell House School, Holywood.
