New season for Historical Society
A number of short films from the Northern Ireland Digital Film Archive will be screened. The archive contains over 50 hours of film relation to events in Northern Ireland.
The films to be produced were short silent films about Belfast, made by the Lumiere Brothers in 1897.

Hide AdThere is also an extract from a travelogue film made in 1935 showing the town centre of Coleraine and Anderson Park.
Film footage of The Open, which was staged in Portrush in 1951 will also be screened.
Coleraine Historical Society meets in the Guide Hall, Terrace Row, Coleraine.
Meetings commence at 8pm.
Any new members will be made very welcome.
Membership is just £10 for the year.
Tea and coffee is served after each meeting.
At next month’s Coleraine Historical Society meeting the topic will be ‘Dunseverick Memories’, the guest speaker will be Jim Wilkinson. This meeting will take place on May 19. This will be followed by the annual outing, to Donegal on June 13.
