After a broader consultation with residents, the Housing Executive last year obtained planning permission to undertake improvement works in the area. It will involve the provision of additional parking spaces and the creation of a one-way traffic system.
“Work will take around 16 weeks and we will, of course, advise our tenants and local residents when this work will begin once a start date has been confirmed.”
Welcoming the news, Ballyclare UUP Cllr David Arthurs said: “I’m pleased this scheme has been proposed. The issue of parking in the area has been a problem for many years and with the majority of residents now having more than one car, the work is much needed. Hopefully over the 16 weeks there won’t be too much disruption and the rewards will be that the residents get the spaces they require.”
