Dromore Post Office hours are extended
According to a spokesperson for parent company, Musgrave Northern Ireland, the new Post Office will indeed benefit from longer opening hours.
That’s in line with a recent announcement - during the official opening of the relocated Post Office - that one benefit of the controversial move from Market Square would be extended opening hours.

“To ensure the location is convenient for customers, there is on-site parking and the Post Office will have extended opening hours, including Sunday opening.”
The full, extended, hours as published were 9am–11pm Monday to Friday, 9am-11pm Saturday and 9am-10pm Sunday.
However, a number of readers have since contacted The Leader to complain that, despite having read that the Post Office was to be open late into the night, when they phoned they were told it closed at 5.30pm.

A Musgrave Northern Ireland spokesperson said: “These extended opening hours are correct.
“There is a counter at the back of the shop which closes at 6pm but the tills at the front of the shop can still do all Post Office transactions and all staff are trained to do this.
“The only service that stops after 6pm is currency exchange; however, as far as I’m aware you can’t get this service anywhere after 6pm.”
It’s understood the store will be looking at how they can best communicate to customers in-store that they can use Post Office services at the front tills.
